You have all been Hired on to help protect the town of Silverbrook. This town is a very new Human settlement only 6 years old and has already grown up to a large village. The silver from the mines to the north must be protected, as this is the site that the majority of the Mint comes from for the Kingdom of Telan. Some of you can be from this town if you want but since most of you are playing elves then you all would be from the Elder wood, and are charge by the elves to protect the interest of the elves as the mines share its resources with your kingdom and the dwarves of Barrakk.  Silver is the main currency of this land, but gold from the dwarves does come out of Barrakk.

Peace Accords were signed about 8 years ago once the Silver mines were discovered by the humans of Telan.  Once a Year the Elves of Elder Wood, and the Dwarves of Barrakk travel to Castellon to meet and discuss events of that year.  The peace accords are designed to provide  25 tons of Silver to the Dwarves and an equal share to the elves. Trade is rampant between the three main races of this land often sharing new techniques to make new structures and items of immense power. The elves have the only college of magic in the land and gladly shares its knowlege with the humans, Halflings, and Gnomes of this land.  The college has admissions into its school once a year and one must prove their abilities before entry into the school with a vigorous test of magical prowess (sometimes resulting in Death). The Kings own daughter is currently a member of the College of magic as a Sorcerer, her name is Lanna Vander-Luda. The dwarves of Barrakk keep their doors closed to most outsiders, but on occasion will invite friends to the clan into view the splendors of Barrakks mines and kingdom.

Constant threat of attack from the Orc and ogre tribes in the area is the only reason for protection duty in Silverbrook. At one point the Orcs of the moutains were able to band together and almost burned the town of silverbrook to the ground. After they were defeated the orcs have not been able to ally with each other so just random raids are a constant threat. Rumors of more dangerous creatures that live in the Barrakk mountains are told to the children of the kingdom of Telan.
